”Mithr piaarae noo(n) haal mureedhaa dhaa kehinaa
Thudhh bin rog rajaaeeaa dhaa oudtan naag nivaasaa dhae hehinaa
Sool suraahee kha(n)jar piaalaa bi(n)g kasaaeeaaa(n) dhaa sehinaa

Mittar Pyare Nu Haal Mureedan Da Kehna Shabad meaning:
”Tell the beloved friend the plight of his disciples.
Without You, using bed sheets is like a sickness and like living as being wrapped by the snakes.
Our water pitchers are like stakes of torture and our cups have edges like daggers.
Your neglect is like the suffering of animals at the hands of butchers.
Death bed with my Beloved is better than body burning without Him.”

This Shabad is from Sikh spiritual tradition and composed by Guru Gobind Singh ji.
He was born “Gobind Rai” and was the 10th and last of the human form Gurus of Sikhism.
As a child, Guru Gobind Singh learned many different languages including Urdu, Sanskrit, Hindi, Braj, Persian and Gurmukhi. He also learned martial arts to become skilled in combat.
He also infused the spirit of both soldier and sainthood in the hearts and minds of his followers to fight oppression in order to restore peace, justice, righteousness and to uplift the down-trodden people in this world. More importantly, He introduced many of the customs that Sikhs practice in the present day.
Guru Gobind Singh’s bani can be found in the Dasam Granth. The Dasam Granth (Book of the Tenth Emperor), also known as Dasven Padshah Ka Granth, is the 2nd most important scripture of Sikhism, after Guru Granth Sahib.
