Namgyalma Mantra – OM BHRUM SVAHA: Benefits and Meaning

Buddhist Mantras

Namgyalma is a Bodhisattva commonly illustrated white in color, with 3 faces and 8 arms. Buddha Amitabha is sitting in the Bodhisattva’s upper right palm, meaning that her ultimate realization is equivalent to that of Amitabha Buddha’s, and is granting the blessing of Buddha Amitabha.

Additionally, the Bodhisattva’s eight arms represent the elimination of disaster. According to the sacred Buddhist scriptures, practitioners who practice the profound teachings of Buddhism should regard the victorious hair Mother Buddha as a Bodhisattva, who rid off disaster and miseries, practicing her dharma, can lengthen their span of life, eliminate their sins and shield them from evil omen, increase their wisdom and happiness.

Chanting Om Bhrum Svaha benefits:

Daily practice of the mantra grants victory over illness and blessings for a long, healthy, and meaningful life benefiting others.

Moreover, if you say the mantra into the ear of an animal, you ensure that this is its last animal rebirth. If an individual who is suffering from a heavy disease that doctors cannot diagnose does the practice that Gautama Buddha taught to the deva Denpa, she or he will be completely liberated from that suffering, bring to an end all future rebirths in the lower realms, and after death be reborn in a blissful pure land. For humans, the current life will be their last rebirth from the womb.

”The Namgyalma mantra is extremely potent. If you put this mantra on a mountain, then the whole mountain is blessed and any human beings, insects or animals who touch or climb the mountain have their bad karma purified just through that.” – Lama Zopa Rinpoche
